Privacy Policy
ClearPest Pest Control ("ClearPest," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or request our services, how we use and protect it, and what choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you provide to us directly, and information collected automatically when you visit our website.
Information you provide
- Contact information - name, phone number, email address, property address, and ZIP code when you request a free inspection, submit the contact form, or subscribe to communications.
- Service details - pest type, description of the problem, service preferences, and any details you provide in the message fields of our forms.
- Account or billing information - if you become a customer, we collect service-agreement details and payment information processed by our PCI-compliant payment processor. ClearPest does not store credit card numbers on our own systems.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser data - IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, and pages visited.
- Cookies and local storage - small data files stored in your browser used to remember your cookie consent choice and improve site performance. See section 6.
- Analytics - aggregated, anonymized usage statistics (page views, session duration, approximate location by region) to help us improve the site.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Respond to inspection requests, contact form submissions, and customer service inquiries.
- Schedule, deliver, document, and follow up on pest control services.
- Process payments and administer active service agreements.
- Send service reminders, appointment confirmations, treatment reports, and follow-up instructions.
- Comply with our legal obligations, including those under Texas pest control licensing regulations (TDA).
- Protect against fraud, unauthorized access, and abuse of our systems.
- Improve our website, services, and customer experience based on aggregated insights.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal information on the basis of (a) your consent, where you have opted in; (b) the performance of a service agreement you have entered into with us; (c) our legitimate business interests in providing, improving, and securing our services; and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these specific situations:
- Service providers - trusted vendors that operate our website, email systems, customer database, scheduling software, and payment processing. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and may only use information to provide services to us.
- Legal requirements - when required by law, subpoena, court order, or valid request from a government authority, including the Texas Department of Agriculture and the EPA.
- Business transfers - in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, subject to customary confidentiality protections and regulatory approval.
- With your consent - for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only as long as needed to provide services, comply with our legal obligations (including Texas pesticide application records, which we are required to retain for at least 2 years), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Inspection-request records that do not become active customers are deleted after 24 months unless you have opted into ongoing communications.
